Client Overview:
Industry: Executive & Luxury Ground Transportation
Location: Colorado
Goal: Take ownership of the company website and turn it into a lead-generating asset that pays for itself
Summary
A Colorado executive transportation company came to us after a year of paying for a “website and SEO” add-on through its booking software, with little to show for it. We rebuilt the site on WordPress, gave the owner full control of it, and launched a location-based SEO strategy built around 12 in-depth destination pages and four dedicated service pages.
Within three months of launch, a prospect found the company through AI search and signed on as a $50,000 client, returning more than 5.5x the owner’s total investment with us.
The Challenge
The client had been relying on the built-in “website and SEO” package offered by his booking platform. The fees kept coming, but the leads didn’t. Worse, because the site lived inside the software, he didn’t actually own it. He couldn’t move it, customize it, or build on it, and every dollar he put into it stayed with the platform. The year before working with us, he spent roughly $40,000 with his previous provider and saw only about $10,000 in return.
Key issues:
- No site ownership: The website was locked inside the booking software, so it couldn’t be moved or expanded.
- Poor return on marketing spend: A year of paid “SEO” brought back about a quarter of what it cost.
- Thin location coverage: Thin, duplicate content pages for the destinations and communities his clients travel to and from.
- No stand-alone service pages: His core services didn’t have dedicated pages that could rank or support ads on their own.
- Migration risk: Moving platforms without a plan could have wiped out the search visibility the old site had built.
Objective: Move the business onto a website it fully owns, keep its existing search equity, and build an SEO foundation that brings in high-value clients from both traditional and AI search.
The Strategy
We executed a 3-phase redesign and SEO strategy combining a safe platform migration, location-based SEO architecture, and answer-engine-ready on-page optimization.
- Platform Migration & Equity Protection
- Rebuilt the full site on WordPress, giving the client complete ownership and control
- Built a 301 redirect map for every legacy URL so existing rankings and backlinks carried over to the new site
- Structured the new site so it can grow with new locations, services, and content over time
- Location-Based SEO Architecture
- Created 12 unique, in-depth destination pages covering key communities across the Front Range and Colorado’s mountain towns
- Split his offering into four stand-alone service pages (pet-friendly private aviation transfers, mountain and ski resort transportation, airport transportation, and corporate transportation), each ready for its own SEO and future ad campaigns
- Connected destination and service pages with strategic internal links to build topical and local authority
- On-Page, Schema & AEO Foundation
- Optimized the Home, About, Contact, and FAQ pages with local and high-intent service keywords
- Implemented LocalBusiness, FAQ, and supporting schema so search engines and AI tools clearly understand who the company is, where it operates, and what it offers
- Wrote clear, answer-ready content and on-page recommendations designed to surface in AI search results and AI Overviews
The Results
The new website gained traction almost immediately after launch.
Organic Growth
- Launched 16 new keyword-targeted landing pages (12 destinations + 4 services), plus four fully optimized core pages
- Protected existing search equity during the move with a complete 301 redirect plan
Conversion Impact
- Closed a $50,000 client within three months of launch
- Earned more than 5.5x his total investment with us, at a fraction of the prior year’s marketing spend
- For comparison, the previous year about $40,000 in spend brought back roughly $10,000
- Lead volume continues to grow
Emerging Visibility
- The $50K client found the company through AI search, not a paid ad
- Schema, FAQ content, and clear location signals positioned the brand to be recommended in AI answers for high-value transportation searches
“Working with Heather and her team at Well Optimized SEO has genuinely been one of the best professional experiences I’ve had — and after 35 years in business, I don’t say that lightly.”
— Executive Driver, Colorado
What’s Next
- Publishing four new blog posts per month to expand topical authority and capture more destination and service searches
- Launching dedicated ad campaigns for each service page over the next three to six months
- Continuing ongoing SEO and AEO campaigns to keep lead growth moving
The Takeaways
This project shows what happens when a business stops renting its website and starts owning it. By moving off a closed booking platform, protecting existing equity with a careful redirect plan, and building location-based pages around where clients actually travel, we turned a site that cost money into one that brings in business. The results came faster than expected: a single AI search lead produced a $50,000 client and more than a 5.5x return in just three months. The takeaway for service businesses is simple. A website built for local search and AI answers with strong foundational SEO can pay for itself quickly, and it becomes a stronger asset every month after.
