SEO Specialist

Part-Time, Contract Role, Remote

Overview:

Well Optimized SEO is seeking a talented and experienced SEO Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. As a Remote SEO Specialist, you will play a crucial role in driving organic traffic and improving search engine rankings for our clients. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to excel in your role from anywhere in the world. We are an LGBTQ and Women-Owned company specializing in Small Business SEO. You’ll dip your toes into content strategy, local SEO, technical SEO and more. Some (paid) training on our processes is provided and SEOs newer to the field (1-3 years experience) are welcome to apply!

Responsibilities:

1. Keyword Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough keyword research to identify high-value keywords relevant to our clients’ industries. Analyze keyword competitiveness and search volume to inform content strategy. You’ll be given access to our ahrefs account, so familiarity with ahrefs is preferred.

2. On-Page Optimization: Optimize website content, meta tags, headings, and other on-page elements to improve organic visibility and enhance user experience. Implement best practices for on-page SEO optimization. We have videos and templates we like to use and you’re welcome to have access to these as you work!

3. Off-Page Optimization: Assist with developing link-building strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks from reputable websites. Monitor backlink profile and brainstorm opportunities for more quality links for clients.

4. Technical SEO: Audit websites for technical issues affecting crawlability, indexing, and site performance. Potential to collaborate with web development teams to implement technical SEO recommendations and ensure website health. We provide technical SEO guidance if you’re still learning the ropes! Familiarity with Screaming Frog and Technical SEO Audits preferred.

5. Content Strategy: Collaborate with content creators, clients, and other SEO team members to develop SEO-friendly content strategies that align with client objectives and target audience needs. Optimize existing content and provide recommendations for new content opportunities. Provide thorough content briefs and outlines (we have templates for this as well!)

6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track key SEO metrics such as organic traffic, keyword rankings, local rankings, blog traffic, and conversion rates. Generate comprehensive reports to communicate performance insights and progress to clients. The ability to find wins and tell a story is a plus! We communicate our value to clients monthly and of course, we have templates for you!

7. Stay Updated on SEO Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, algorithm updates, and best practices in SEO. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills to drive better results for clients. You’ll be added to our slack channel where we all share resources and recent updates as well!

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as an SEO Specialist or similar role, with a strong track record of improving search engine rankings and driving organic traffic. At least one year experience in SEO working directly on content strategy, technical SEO, or SEO reporting. 2+ years experience preferred.
  2. In-depth knowledge of SEO principles, algorithms, and ranking factors.
  3. Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and similar platforms.
  4. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  5. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  6. Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
